Gabriel and Michaelina Marabella opened at the present Stone Harbor location in 1972. Aptly named, Marabella's Family Restaurant is a place for the family, by the family. With the help of sons Gabriel and Angelo, and especially Aunt Mary, Mom Marabella created menu items from recipes she learned from her Neopolitan mother and grandmother.
"Use fresh ingredients, keep the prices reasonable, and maintain a super-clean environment," she said, "and the customers will return."
And return they did. We are currently serving the fourth generation of some of our most loyal customers. After retiring at age eighty, Mom Marabella turned over the responsibilities of running her kitchen to son Angelo. With the indispensable help of long-time employees and now partners, Matt and Dave Szegda, Angelo creates new menu items and specials based on his mother's maxims:
